Waterford College was founded in 1963 to teach students of all colors together - as an alternative to the brutal apartheid system in South Africa is only 20 kilometers away. Waterford's additional name 'KaMhlaba' means "a world in miniature" in siSwati, a world in which there is room for everyone.Since 1981, the College is logically a UWC. Around 500 students 11 to 20 years are taught in Waterford. The college has a strong regional focus - in the academic program, cultural activities and social projects. From lessons in African history to the concrete support of AIDS orphans - the students can learn and help Africa.
