UWC Macedonia

Кратка Историја

Kurt Hahn is a German educational worker and the first one to introduce the idea of United World Colleges (UWC). He believed that much can be done to overcome religious, cultural and rational misunderstanding and avoid conflict, if young people from all around the world gather together. He considered that students at the age of 16 to 18 are sufficiently related to their cultures, but still open to new influences in order to learn from one another.

The first UWC, the College of the Atlantic, was opened in 1962. Nowadays, there are thirteen UWC Colleges across 5 continents. Nearly 40,000 students from 180 different countries have studied at UWC and there are over 120 national committees.
